Though he spent most of his 25-year career based in Toronto, choreographer and director Matjash Mrozewski recently moved to Montreal to take up the position of Associate Director of the Directing Program and Residencies at The National Theatre School. Matjash continues to undertake projects spanning disciplines, in Canada and internationally. Matjash trained at Canada’s National Ballet School and danced for The National Ballet of Canada, where he choreographed his breakout work, A Delicate Battle, in 2001. Over the next decade he went on to choreograph for ballet companies across the US, Europe and Australia. In 2016, Matjash completed the Canadian Stage/York University MFA in Large-Scale Stage Direction. He has been nominated for numerous Dora Awards in dance and theatre.
