In “Inner Dialogue”, choreographer Eva Kolarova and composer Maggie Ayotte were inspired by the isolation imposed upon them. Eva describes it as “Isolation for me is inspiration, in isolation you do not have to give an explanation. It is both a blessing and a curse but isolation helps me communicate with my soul. For me, my biggest fear would be losing that thing that we call light.” The vision for the piece was like an inner journey where the dancer was initially confined sitting on a chair and then a second development would bring on movement. The French horn reflected this in the sombre lower notes rising to a higher brighter sound. The work is interpreted by dancer Eva Kolarova and musician Louis-Philippe Marsolais.
